Although Cadillac surpassed Lexus in YTD sales, the transaction prices of the two are quite different.
Cadillac offered significant discounts to boost sales, while Lexus raised MSRP in September. Now in order to buy ES and RX, consumers also need to buy additional dealer products. Due to the limited capacity of the Kyushu plant, Lexus China's sales capacity has not been fully released.
What do you think if production capacity would be limitless? 300k? 400k?

I think it is not difficult to achieve annual sales close to the US market in 2025, about 300k. However, due to China's policy requirements for BEV and PHEV, Lexus(Toyota) will need to spend more efforts in the future to meet the requirements of "double credits".

The RX line (big dog) is very successful and can't think of anything to improve it. There are already a 2 row and 3 row RX and F Sport versions. The RX L should expand it's wheelbase to increase legroom for the third row. Lexus could expand the operation of the navigation/infotainment along with the touch screen to also include the mouse controller, controls on the steering wheel and voice command, similar to the 2020 Mercedes GLE.

Maybe introduce an electric version and a plug in hybrid of the RX such as the RX 400e/RX 450ph...but how many people will actually purchase an electric RX because of the range? I agree with Toyota/Lexus that there is not much of a demand for EV just lots of hype. How many here on LE would buy an EV, maybe 1% if that. In the U.S. about 2% purchase EV's and worldwide maybe 3%. So there really is not much of a demand for full electric vehicles. Other than that the RX line is just fine the way it is.

I think the hybrid RX could use solid state batteries for quick charging and longer battery life as well as savings in weight. Also use weight saving materials such as carbon fiber hood, front fenders and trunk and a carbon fiber roof as well. Use titanium exhaust and underpinnings (control arms, etc.), titanium lug nuts and bolts. With the weight savings the hybrid RX would be a lot peppier and save gas.

We are very unlikely to see solid-state batteries in hybrids because of their extremely low C-rate.

Also these weight reduction methods will make sense on a LC-F, but never on a RX.

Lexus should also bring in a 2 row GX as well which would be at a lower price point and have more cargo room than the 3 row GX. Bring in a diesel variant and a GX 570 as well. This would also increase sales as well. F Sport the GX as well...and bring in Android Auto and more USB's...

Agreed. Lexus needs to bring the RC hybrid (RC 300h) to North America and expand the RC line to include:

RC 4 door coupe
RC convertible
RC F 4 door coupe
RC F convertible

This would increase sales and awareness of the RC line. Lexus you can do this...

The IS line definitely needs to be updated and bring back the IS F with at least 426hp - 504hp (M3 has 425hp and C63S has 503hp) and IS 300h to North America. C'mon Lexus you can do it...

They are not stocking them because dealers know customers are less likely to buy them. Thus incentives are offered to get dealers to buy them to push them out. There simply is no glut of people wanting to buy them. They sit on lots for months on average compared to a Lexus SUV which turns around in weeks if not days.
This strains the relationship a bit. Lexus is making product they want dealers to sell but dealers are not ordering them. Note that dealers begged for a third row RX over the RC convertible Lexus wanted to bring to market. Dealers are begging for a larger Escalade sized SUV and not more F products.

Clearly it’s complicated. I know Lexus has really tried hard to train dealers on the the new products and direction. It’s tough when they still want to sell you a white/beige ES or RX cause it’s easier than a GS. It’s also tough when the ES and RX are so damn good at everything most people go for them and are happy.

What saddens me is the LC is an amazing product, the LS is solid and I love the GS and still think it’s one of the best Lexus ever.
Agree that Lexus is having a bit of a strained relationship - this is similar to the watch world where ROLEX demands their Authorized dealers purchase a "package", including the hard to sell/slow moving pieces in order to obtain the fast selling steel models. The vehicles of choice are always sensitive to costs and locations, but they need to sell many SUVs in order to produce beautiful, and rarer LC500s. At only 15 produced per day, Lexus knows they will not be common on the road, and that is a good thing. How often do you see a Ferrari as a daily driver? The performance cars are the same... enjoy being in a rarer vehicle. I do.... But remember, it is a business, so an overall profit for Lexus means great opportunities for us who enjoy driving an awesome car... Gotta go, the LC is calling for some wheel time! Cash
