Why was this concept car suddenly unveiled without any prior announcement?
What is its actual connection to the GR GT or LFR?
Why was it originally called the “Lexus Electrified Sport Concept” but is now renamed to “Lexus Sport Concept”? Does this suggest a shift in Lexus’ strategy toward a cancellation of fully electric product lineup?

Still scratching my head over all of this…

I think it looks really good! Looks to me like Lexus is getting better at exterior design. Though interior is getting worse IMO.

Crazy thought: What if this isn’t the LFA successor that many online commentators are eluding to? Maybe it’s the LC/RC successor, with the Toyota GT being slated above the Supra. A TT V8 LC would be fantastic, and it makes the shared platform with the Toyota GT more palatable. The upside is the TT V8 may not be as exotic as the LFA V10, which then opens the door to the engine being used in other models (LS, LX-F, GR Tundra, future Century products, etc).

Maybe it’s all wishful thinking on my part…

The proportions of this concept don't necessarily scream GR GT, at least in terms of dash-to-axle ratio. This concept seems to be more compact forward of the A-pillar. I'm definitely seeing inspiration from the LFA at least.

Could this instead preview a next generation Lexus coupe that will replace the LC/RC?
I was just thinking this could possibly be a preview to that coupe that BestCar was alluding to?

Something about the RC/LC being replaced by a singular model shared with the Supra.

Am I going crazy or is this not so crazy after all? I guess it would be peak Toyota/Lexus to bring a TTV8 to the table many years/generations after their competition has, but I just don't think their product planning would flip-flop that hard. Sometimes it feels like Lexus is run by multiple groups without a single unified vision (just take the ES for example).

Switching to design, I think the front and rear are an improvement over the 1st concept. However, I kind of liked the shape of the vents on the fender and B-pillar better on the original car.

Edited: The space between the door and rear wheel has grown. Perhaps a longer wheelbase for backseats?

IMO looks more like they are trying to mimic the look of dry break valves that we see on the fuel filler of race cars. Still strange that it's placed under the wing.

I guess I'll be that guy... not a huge fan of it's styling. My first thought seeing that was "is that AI generated?"
I agree. It's comparatively unimaginative like a mesh of several existing designs typical of an AI slop.

It's a definite step down from the Electrified Sport Concept with flowing, imaginative and coherent curves that look properly hyper, exotic and emotional.

Assuming this concept is indeed a preview of the TTV8 supercar, I think that once it's translated to the profuction car and gains exhaust pipes, real side mirrors, and somewhat normal head and tailights, it is going to look great. Hopefully the interior is up to snuff too, and isn't new ES coded 🤮

Why would this be a preview of the TTV8 supercar? We've already seen the TTV8 supercar at Goodwood and it is completely different from this.

The V8 hybrid super car will be GR branded. The BEV super car is this concept.

They know how much hype it will generate if they just play the engine sound in the video or show exhaust pipes on the concept. But they didn't. This means very high possibility that the Lexus version will be the BEV super car.
