Gaaaaahhhhh this car looks so good.

It LOOKS like a Lexus, it doesn't make any sense for it to be a Toyota. With that said, I've given up on Lexus so I'm happy that this car is getting closer and closer to production.

Just look at the front end, it’s clearly a Lexus design, yet Toyota stole it. I don’t know how Lexus is supposed to justify its so called “spindle body” design going forward. When even the design language is taken from them, what do they have left?

This isn't the first Toyota design with a Lexus spindle body. Sienna and previous gen Camry both incorporated spindle body.

Maybe the race version will have a Toyota badge since the brand is more recognized on a global scale? Production version could be sold under the Lexus brand in select markets.

What vehicle is the 600hp G20E used in? I thought that was used in a race application.

Akio Toyoda hates Lexus.

Theyve always aped designs from Lexus.

It makes more sense now in this context.

It's always been a bait and switch.

I have zero enthusiasm for this car.

The new BMW NK stuff is more interesting to me than this.

About 4-5 years ago at the Lexus Performance Driving School, Scott Pruett told the group that Lexus was developing a new supercar called the LFR. It would use the twin-turbo V8 originally planned for the LC F, paired with a hybrid system. At the time, he didn’t mention anything about the GR GT or GR GT3. So it was pretty clear, even back then that this car was intended to be the LFR, Lexus’ top tier halo model.
But there was no official announcement or concept or anything and it could’ve been cancelled like the countless products that were cancelled in 2020-21. Also around that time we were supposed to get the GR Super Sport and it would’ve been TMC flagship and sold under the GR brand. I’m still positive we’re getting a Lexus version of this car.

The more I think about it, the more I think you're right. I think we can still get two versions of the car. Not that they haven't cancelled trademarks before, but they did apply for the trademark 'LFR', it's still LIVE, and a fourth extension request for the name was just put in Feb 26th of this year. I hope that means something.

If you guys still remember what BestCarWeb said, they said the car they’re testing now is gonna end up as the Toyota GR GT, and the LFR will be a full-on EV hypercar instead. If you piece together all the little clues we’ve seen so far, it actually makes sense - Lexus is pushing hard for full electrification, and they’ve always been about that smooth and quiet brand image. Yeah, BestCarWeb can be full of S sometimes, but with all the hints and how they keep dodging the topic, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is actually what’s going down. We’ve been burned so many times already, what’s one more heartbreak?

This interior screams Nissan GTR. RIP Lexus!

The headlights are reminding me of this render from a year or so ago that Best Car (I think?) put out
