At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Lexus Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries dropped a bombshell that fundamentally reimagines what the LS flagship stands for. No longer constrained to “Luxury Sedan,” the LS nameplate is being reinvented to represent “Luxury Space.”

Overall I honestly like this direction for the brand. Its a good thing that they are expanding into other mobility and products that we use in our lives. I think it is quite clear that Lexus's LS models will become a series rather than a single model. This means that we have LS MPV and LS Coupe right now, but we could have LS Sedan (somewhat of a successor to the current LS) and LS SUV (some kind of escalade iq rival) in the future, we don't really know. The Sport Battery Concept (what I would expect to be the LFR) still gives no word on powertrain. I would expect them to offer it with the same powertrained as the upcoming GR-GT (PHEV TTV8) and also in electric form once market conditions allow. What is clear is that they are continuing to put emphasis on luxury and performance alike, rather than just completely abandoning the performance side of things, and that the LS is very much alive, and it will be a series comprised of their top comfort-focused models.

No one saw that coming! So fixated every one was on the what the LS "was" and not what it could become! Good thing is, there is the vision to break from the pack and build something new....even if in concept so far. Very interesting!

There is no mention of a Lexus LS MPV Concept on the US website. Seems like they have no plans to bring it here as of now.

Well, the 6 wheel bus is quite ugly. The supercar too expensive and the SUV a lookalike from other brands. So?
