Going back on history...
IS 300- 215hp 3.0 I-6
GS 300/IS 300 middle east- 240hp 3.0 V-6

As we know the new 2.0t in the NX produces 235hp. Lexus has hinted the engine can make more power for different applications. Does Lexus drop the t form the name and just make up a displacement?

I was telling a member the other day I was stunned to find out the C 250 for example was actually a 1.8 liter I-4 turbo.

Yes MB 1.8t with balance shafts, smooth to redline. None of the usual 4 banger NVH issues. Introduced in some markets as 2010, many have done well over 100K miles, with good reliability. My Mercedes-inde services many (at 10K intervals).

Personally, I hope Lexus doesn't do that, resorting to confusing alphanumeric naming schemes. Confusion and luxury do not go hand in hand IMHO.

Fellow UK poster rayaans, mentioned to me that the LS will get a 3.0 litre twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine, which I believe will be petrol, not a hybrid. It has been hinted at a long time that the LS will get a TTV6 and TTV8. LC500 might just be that, a 5.0 litre twin-turbo V8 and RC300 a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6. Usually a lowercase 't' tacked on the end for turbo variants, but maybe this will be different for twin-turbo models.

quite possibly LS500 will be 5.0l version of new UR engine.... they are not going to put twin-turbo as base engine.
