Lexus ES and Lexus sales in Japan

Newly launched ES had 2200 reservation in Japan, 12 times more than monthly sales target of 350. Also, digital side mirrors have gotten a lot of media attention there.


Lexus sales in Japan have risen 34,6% YTD from January to October. YTD Jan-Sep Lexus was 5000 sales behind MB with the new ES Lexus might outsell this year. All three German luxury brand sales have declined throughout 2018.

it was 100% higher until few months ago, i guess LS demand slowed down as expected as it was crazy... also NX is supply limited.
Toyota has been making quite few premium vehicles in Japan lately that directly compete with Lexus too.

I think ES will boost sales it doesn't directly compete with Toyota Crown but I think customers from german 3 will prefer domestic car. Digital outer mirrors have been very big topic. Lexus UX will boost sales radically. C-HR was a great success in Japan. There is demand for sub-compact SUV.

it will certainly boost them, but we are not talking about huge numbers there... but UX, yep.
