Here's what many of us have been waiting to see....the new trade-deal rules for vehicles produced in North America, and how they could affect vehicle-production and sales.

This article goes into more detail, but, in a nutshell, the top issues are:

1). At least 75% of the vehicle's "value" (however that is calculated) must come from North-American-sourced parts.

2). 40-45% of the vehicle itself has to be built with employees making more than $16 an hour. That, of course, will be a boon to UAW jobs.

3). 2.6 million vehicles built in Canada, and 2.6 million vehicles built in Mexico will be exempt from the Trump Administration's tariffs.

4). Vehicles that do not meet the above requirements will be subject to a small 2.5% tariff.
