What a shame. The S and X are total icons and in my opinion Tesla would have benefited in the long run if they continued developing new generations of these cars.Another Elon self-immolation in real time.
They pulled a Lexus here and I strongly believe that this will bite them in the future.
They are still so far ahead they don't have to.

They don't want to compete anymore. Which is utterly lame.
It doesn't matter how far ahead one may be, you don't rob that choice away from your loyal customers. The S and X have developed such a cult following (and deserved too... to be fair), that cancelling these models is just a silly oversight.

Looks like Honda's dumbass has finally regained some sense, they cancelled the production of their 3 EVs, which are:
- 0 series sedan
- 0 series SUV
- Acura RSX
Scrapping this whole project will cost them about $15.8 billion in loses, but better remove this tumor now than dragging it out until it's too late.

Thats what happens when an idiot starts running things around. It will take at least a half a decade to fix what he ruined within one year. What could easily happen is that BEVs could surge in US once this clustersex of gulf conflict goes off the rails completely and it not only affects China but US as well. Twenty years ago after all that Halliburton corruption mess, the oil didn't have an alternative but it gave birth to hybrids, today its vastly different and if oil prices skyrocket there is alternative and BEV is one of them.
Mercedes is referring to it as the Grand Limousine and that it will redefine the segment. The VLS may very well be their flagship going forward. Lexus proves once again they are 5 steps ahead with the LS minivan concept. And in my opinion the LM is better than the VLE.

Following discussions between its parent companies, Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Sony Honda Mobility Inc. has decided to discontinue the development and launch of its first model, AFEELA 1, and its second model of AFEELA vehicles that had been under development.

The CTP/PTB concept is similar to BYD's concept. This configuration is more serviceable and recyclable than true CTC.
The "Energy Master" is an all-in-one module that includes BMU, cooling system, charging system, and power supply. The unit could be serviced by removing the rear seat.
Cells are 4695/46120 which is taller than Tesla's 4680 cell, hence the thick floor and tall height of i3/iX3.

IMO cancelling it now is a stupid idea. The Sedan was understandable because electric sedans don't sell that well but they should've brought the SUVs to market since they were decently competitive. Most of the costs with EVs comes from development, and they have already eaten up those costs. Honda's lack of hybrids makes them extraordinarily uncompetitive. The large-platform V6 hybrid NEEDS to come to MDX and variants of the RDX. The smaller hybrids also need to go throughout the acura lineup if they want any hope of staying competitive. Same with Honda's lineup. I think a next-generation ridgeline with a hybrid could work given the recent influx of unibody trucks from other brands. The passport is knocking it out of the park of them, so I think a truck version would logically also sell well. In addition, please, for the love of god, reduce the price of the prelude. It should start at 35k, and have the hybrid be a base powertrain, and slot a Type R (or maybe some kind of more powerful hybridized Type R above it). Finally, get rid of the extraordinarily vanilla styling that we see on most models. They need to go a bit bolder with it. 0-series was a good start but expand that to the rest of the lineup. After that, when things stabilize, start to help turn Acura into a global luxury brand, rather than this super-niche honda+ brand.
