Camry leads sedan sales by a large margin

We will see if the 2025 continues this lead. With the Malibu gone it and others will clearly benefit.

As much as the press loves to hate on the Camry, it's a great package that hits on exactly what consumers want and need -- and at a reasonable price.

Toyota absolutely nailed the Camry. Accord went from selling 1-1 to nearly 2-1 in favor of the Camry which is insane to me.
Malibu and Altima are being discontinued but sell better than the Sonata and K5 combined. Sonata sales did jump like 55%

For the last 15 years it goes like this in their press release
Sales up “the market loves what we have done with the car and we have supply ready for people”
Sales down “we have supply issues and we are buying our employees new boots the don’t come in for 6 months”

Honda Accord sales peaked in 2016 and have plummeted. The new Accoed has dropped every year.

Maybe they did not want to update. The Malibu is ~10years old now. Altima is also old. Ford has been gone a few years now.

To me, 100k+ sales on a 10 year old car indicates that even just a refresh would be free money.

Maybe Nissan is getting sick of all the unpaid loans and the cars that get severely damaged or even totaled before they are able to tow them back from the Big Altima Energy crowd. Plus heavily relying on discounts and incentives to move their cars ain't exactly a sustainable long term strategy for a crippled brand like Nissan.

Car is still flying off the shelves. I had a rental. super base model, and it is still quite impressive.

Camry is still in the top ten in sales for 2025 and the only mid size sedan in it.

With the Altima dying I assume Toyota will kick up production as you have 100,000 or so people still looking for a sedan
