I seriously doubt that Buick has the reputation in the US to be able to sell to core buyers an SUV, regardless of price. I just don't see it. In China it's obviously different, but this thread is focusing on the US price for this vehicle.

Also keep in mind the base price for this Envision is higher than the Enclave in the US, which also boggles the mind. Core buyers are very likely to choose the Enclave over this thing.

I think so. A cushy SUV is a natural for Buick, more so than the sporty well done Regal which doesn't sell well. If the Envision is done well it should command the higher price.

C&D remarked that that their four-seasons long-term test Regal GS was, to their tastes, the best Buick product that they had ever sampled (including the old GNX/Grand National). Of course, they are a classic sport-oriented organization, and generally pour scorn on traditional Buicks.

I have to admit.....I am VERY eager to review and test-drive one (and that's an understatement). We have never had a Chinese-built vehicle, here in the U.S. before, as a mainstream product, and it will be very interesting to see to see if the Chinese can compete with the Japanese, Koreans, Europeans, and, yes, us Americans, in how well vehicles are built in their plants. Of course, they certainly seem to be satisfying the Chinese public themselves, who hold those Buicks in very high esteem.
