Hearing the "forged bamboo" is actually plastic with a "bamboo effect" unfortunately. Interested to get my hands on one and see what it feels like in person.

I guess technically bamboo isn’t wood so it must be some plastic layer under it. I’m not sure what to think tho. Seemed fine when I saw it, MUCH better than the plastic in the 14-25 models

Something interesting I noticed about the new Audi A5, which replaces the A4. The car is essentially the same size or even slightly larger than gen 4 GS. 190.1 inches long vs GS's 190.9 inches, with a 114.2 inch wheelbase vs the GS's 112.2 inch wheelbase, and a width of 73.2 inches vs the GS's 72.4 inches.

The GS would be considered a compact sedan by today's standards. In retrospect it would have been smarter for Lexus to keep the gen 4 GS alive instead of the IS, especially with how large the ES has grown.

Wow that’s wild. Lexus was pretty odd with the GS. The 1st gen was large for its class about 195” long. The shrunk it to 189” for the second gen which continued 3/4th. GS F is longer due to front overhang, While the 4th gen was nimble it was a few inches shorter than the competitors which grew.

Wood interior in modern cars are wood veneers on plastic base layers, no matter how expensive the car is. It's required by crash safety because they don't splinter.

And now the 5 Series is 199 inches long! Longer than an LS460.
