Interestingly enough the car seems to have picked up with car enthusiasts and the aftermarket. It’s one of the few if not only small awd car in this space.

Because the engine is torquey and also has a smooth and linear, power delivery. Not to mention, the new WRX engine is extremely tuneable and is relatively underrated from the factory.

Other than styling, this car is looking to be a hit for Subaru. Granted, the GR Corolla absolutely wipes the floor with the WRX in every metric possible other than... interior room?

I rented a WRX for 5 days on a recent trip.

It drives way better than my relative's STI. In fact I would say it feels faster most of the time. It doesn't feel useless below 3000rpm like the ancient EJ25.

Even Subaru's former senior engineer and current director of STI's Nurburgring 24h program, Eiji Tatsumi, who's about to retire, is saying Subaru's current main lineup is a bit too average, thanks to them being very focused on the US market, which doesn't seem to have problems accepting cars that are kinda meh 😂.

Also, RIP Legacy, you're the car that lifted up Subaru's reputation, yet they just let you go out in a whimper instead of a bang.

Subaru will go back to making exciting cars if WRX owners stop wrecking their cars.

Subaru having ridiculous insurance premium is a global problem.

The thing is Subaru going ugly and boring has never been more successful in America. To his point lol…

They tried fun, cool, quirky and it didn’t work. Maybe they need better marketing tho
