Front end is ugly and looks like a bad rip on the Maserati GranTourismo, and the rear end looks completely generic.

I’m so bored with Mercedes design.

I'm not sure I would say that the front is ugly quite yet, at least not for me, but I do agree that the rear could be literally any other modern Mercedes. It really is a shame that the flagship SL is going to be almost undistinguishable from a C-Class from the rear. If I was a potential buyer of the SL, that would bother me, no doubt.

It isn't even just Mercedes rear ends... The horizontal tail light that is thinner on the deck lid and then teardrops into the rear quarter panel/bumper has been something Japanese companies have been doing for a long time now, namely Infiniti. Over the last 5 years or so, BMW and Mercedes decided they like it too, and have used the same shape on several vehicles.

The tail lights aren't as similar, but the overall rear shape seems Z4-ish.

Oh well. I'm not going to complain about more coupes/GT cars coming in a world where they are otherwise vanishing!

I wouldn't call the front ugly, because I like the Maserati's looks, but the rear is so generic I forgot it was supposed to be a Benz. Never mind confusing it with a C-Class, it looks like a *lot* of other cars. As a purely aesthetic thing I'd rather have the LC Convertible, but I know the actual buyers for this would laugh at that idea.
