^^ Same. I would also use "Lexus cars" or "Lexus'" because that's what you do if you want to pluralize something that ends with an s. :^)

A Manual 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Was the Best Surprise I’d Had in a While

But the fact that I even have to wonder if a Corolla is as good as a Mazda 3—the perennial enthusiast’s choice for small sedans and hatches—speaks to what a good job Toyota has done here.

And if Toyota truly manages to beat Mazdaspeed to the punch with a hot hatchback version, well... that changes the equation, doesn’t it?

Car and Driver pointed me to this somewhat controversial Corolla ad. I think it's Toyota Marketing's best work in a while, but I can see where it might make people uncomfortable.

Usually like to see Doug's videos, but this one for the Corolla review... It's quite bad in my opinion...

He has the lower spec, and even as a cheap car (for US standard), it seems he was expecting a Rolls Royce.

Doug is one of the biggest dumbasses to grace this Earth why would you take him seriously? There are so many better people to watch out there.

GAC-Toyota Levin pricing unveiled. Trim levels are translated into their U.S. equivalents. 185T has the 1.2L turbo engine. No MT option is offered, although the CVT does have the launch gear (unlike the 1.8L USDM model). The "Tech" trim has a unique infotainment package (yes, a $20k Corolla will have better infotainment than a $60k+ Lexus) while the XLE has more premium interior quality.

185T L ‎¥115,800 ($16,750)
185T LE ¥129,800 ($18,750)
185T SE ¥133,800 ($19,500)
185T "Tech" ¥139,800 ($20,250)
185T XLE ¥141,800 ($20,500)

Hybrid L ¥133,800 ($19,500)
Hybrid LE ¥142,800 ($20,650)
Hybrid SE ¥146,800 ($21,250)
Hybrid "Tech" ¥150,800 ($21,850)
Hybrid XLE ¥152,800 ($22,150)

All 185T trims are at least ¥4,000 cheaper than last gen, while all hybrid trims are at least ¥6,000 cheaper than last gen. This new Levin has such INSANE value that competitors are doomed, period. The Civic trims are priced at ¥5,000-10,000 above (although most of them have good discounts after several high profile scandals). Honda cheaped out on safety, offering only two airbags on its 1.0T models; the 1.5T trims have only six airbags and Honda Sensing is only available on the top trim. By comparison, all Levin trims have eight airbags and TSS 2.0 is standard on all trims except the L.

The only weak link now is the 8NR-FTS engine. It's just so inefficient and Toyota China never liked it (they wanted a 1.5L NA/1.4T duo), plus it has the worst reliability record of all TMC engines manufactured in China (mostly issues with the flimsy intercooler). At 5.5L/100km the 185T is less fuel efficient than the Camry 2.0 with M20C. Once they switch to the M15C they will have the perfect product for China.
