Yea man, big shoutout to all the boomers and aunties out there - they contributed so many RX, NX, TXs that we’ll probably never see an LS, GS, RC, ISF, GSF, RCF, LCF, LSF, or LF1 ever again. Apparently, Lexus Japan thinks just churning out RX, NX, and TX is enough to sit back and rake it in while doing absolutely nothing risky. Like, who needs innovation anyway? Gotta be straight up brain-dead to pull a stunt that actually puts the company in danger.

at some point you have to realize that the buyers of RX are not the problem, problem is people did not buy GS, LS, RC and IS in enough numbers.
Sure, also that they were not good enough to be bought it big numbers.
But apparently NX/RX/UX/etc are.
They could really need an ES600e FSP model. Not having any F-Sport variant is stupid because it has like 30% take-rate across the brand. I also hope they add better suspension options like the bZ7's air springs with MagneRide. I think rear-wheel steering is available on the 500e?

Like the CHR EV, will this come with an automatic LSD?
It's basically a crossover coupe with that height. 61.4 inches makes it even taller than both the EQS and i7 despite both of those also being BEV's.
Funny how Volvo just came out with their new "ES" that's also remarkably similar to this ES.
The BZ7 pre-order is available in China and it's much, much more impressive than I expected. The 8ES is already 2 generations behind it. I struggle to find a reason for the 8ES to exist in China when you can get this at much lower price.
2 battery options: 71.35kWh LFP/88.13kWh NCM; 600km/710km CLTC range.
800V fast charge, 15min 10-80%. 25% battery capacity degradation at -30C.
2 motor options: 207kW (281PS) RWD/380kW (517PS) AWD. 3.8s 0-100km/h for the AWD model.
Suspension is front double wishbone/rear multilink. Available dual-chamber air spring and semi-active damping control with road-scan.
Standard LIDAR+Computer Vision driver assist (L3).
Interior is typical generic Chinese BEV parts bin but you can say the same about the 8ES. At ¥200-300k (USD 29-43k) you get full leather interior and real wood, plus soft-touch everywhere. Main screen is 15.6-inch 2k resolution. Available with 4 25W wireless chargers (2 front, 2 rear).
Standard zero-gravity seats. Heated/ventilated with massage available on all 4 seats (you only find this on executive trim LS).
Available center arm rest refrigerator and executive seating package with recline and folding tray table (not available on 8ES).
Available 23-speaker Yamaha sound system.
Huge amount of legroom and headroom thanks to the all-flat skateboard chassis, despite only being 1500mm tall.

At least on paper the BZ7 is not just way ahead of the 8ES, but in China it's among the most competitive at its price point. Toyota's BEV strategy in China is actually working: left other foreign brands in the dust, goes toe-to-toe with indigenous brands.
Without going too much into discussion this is all ODM stuff and Chinese marketing lives and thrives on spec sheet and no one cares if it works properly or not. I am not defending 8ES as it's probably two generations behind than BZ7 in features but BZ7 Chinese spec would never pass mandatory stuff in neither EU nor US as is. Chinese L3 has zero chance of passing EU General Safety Regulation especially when it comes to privacy, public safety etc.
