ES was never the flagship
ES was never the lux sport executive sedan
ES was never enthusiast car

Just a cheaper FF for 60+ years old who doesn't want to drive

Yes but when you neglect every other offering and present this as the new direction of the brand and a model to try to shift buyers of all sedans into, you are open to criticism. If there was anything LS related to discuss, would people be as critical of the ES?

Doesnt matter what they say. They have let every sedan atrophy and are now talking repeatedly for years about how the ES "has more rear leg room than the LS" and make the prior model look way too close to the LS, and then suddenly its "no exec ever said that!".

You had all the right to hope for something until this new ES got revealed. There is no doubt now. The Lexus GR tells it too. It will first start as a Lexus GR, the 500 units will be sold and it will continue racing as a Toyota GR. Same team, different name. I bet some time down the road the Dakar Lexus LX will also become a Toyota Landcruiser.

Honestly I thought that Lexus will start the 2 lineup strategy that we got told a decade ago

ES then another FF car underneath it

Then

LS GS IS as the FR lineup with LX and GX turned to onroad FR sporty lux SUV in the same category as the FF TX and RX

They will kill off the IS like they always do, and then just flood Lexus with every FWD Toyota - maximum profit margins, why not?? I’m calling this before it even happens.

TMC really seems to enjoy discontinuing and taking over Lexus products 🤡🤡🤡, perhaps they are planning to discontinue the Lexus brand itself in the near future.

Some things truly defy logic and it might sound strange, but if Lexus can casually uproot and discontinue the LS, the very foundation and soul of the brand, then it’s hard to believe this brand has a future. At this pace, even the name Lexus itself might eventually vanish.

It’s hard and painful to be a Lexus fan these days…
