Lexus completely forgot what made them special. If they follow the trend of Chinese cars, they would be destroyed eventually.

Atomic Silver helps a lot ... but this does not look flagship to say the least

Y'all remember when Lexus were promising us these?! 😭

Pepperidge Farms remembers...

In all seriousness, these asswipes strung their fanbase along with some insane concepts that they were going to put into production but then turn around and start giving us garbage like what we see right now. Toyota and Lexus are out of their minds and they are doing everything they can to give us products that are not what people asked for but for astronomically high prices. It really seems like all the love is being directed at GR and some specific models that they randomly decide to shower with love. Heck, even the Century SUV was a royal flop. The CENTURY.

Toyota's reputation is being carried because their small cars (Prius/Corolla/Camry), the GR cars, and some random cars like the Venza/Crown Signia, RAV4 Prime, or Grand Highlander are super good. For their other cars, Toyota's excellent hybrid system is the only saving grace for their otherwise mediocre offerings. They're either super unrefined, don't offer engines that are not wheezy 4-cylinders, or are eye-wateringly expensive with exorbitantly-high interest rates that most OEMS won't even dare to offer.

Well that same lineup is where we were teased with the ES which didn't happen.

I'm assuming within a year of that reveal happening is when Toyota changed the product roadmap for Lexus

And every single change they made was for the worse. I can't think of a single change they have done with Lexus as of recent that was actually logical or gave us confidence as to what they were doing.

I really thought some people were just being doomers but it really feels like the top brass are being malicious and are intentionally trying to kill the brand off.

I just watched Hagerty's video an hour or so ago on the Merkur XR4Ti and how it died due to shitty dealers, and Jason Cammisa even highlighted that Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti survived but also thrived because they had independent dealers. Now? It feels like Lexus is about to join them because Toyota execs have this fetish of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. In fact, it's almost like they want Lexus to lose.

The BZ7 looks much better and is on paper more luxurious. The front passenger seat is full recliner and is also available as a 4-seater with rear VIP seating. The BZ7 also has Lidar sensor set for L2 autonomous driving.

So much for the "global flagship" from the luxury branch.

I think these will come, based on the IS 3.99 platform and some recycled powertrain. Then sales will flop, or get outright banned by regulations (whether it's emissions or safety), and they will have excuses to cancel them. The IS 3.75 did too well sales wise and they lack proper reasons to cancel it.

You know what I've been thinking these past hours? I'm actually hoping to see the new ES will flop hard. Maybe then they'll finally realize that the LS is the true flagship of the brand and shouldn't be so easily abandoned.

I don't have much engineering background, but is there a reason why they lengthened the overhang for this new generation? I thought previously overhangs were mostly due to ICE powertrain components needing space but with the transition to HEV/BEVs I didn't think long overhangs would be necessary? Are crash standards just that hard to meet without these longer overhangs?

I hope no one buys this car. I hope their sales plummet. They need to take a hard fall to realize just how foolish their actions are. That’s the only way to help them get back on track. They need to take responsibility for this.

Yup a Chinese back 2 back rebadge. They are even inconsistent when it comes to their own badging, ES500e has 340hp while RZ500e has 380hp.

Honestly I don't mind the car at all but one thing makes me super furious and it's a cancer that we will not get rid of it anytime soon: Tesla has proven everyone that you don't need interior design, interior amenities and necessities, and you can still be treated as premium and command a premium price.

This is Mazda's take on interior of a Chinese rebadge. And this is going to be at least $10K cheaper
