They're building two M3s. One electric, and one gas.

BMW is doing better than ever.

BMW appeals to a whole different demographics now. They might be doing very well sales wise, but the spirit of M is long gone. You've got people on M forums voicing concerns about insufficient self driving features - for perspective M cars used to be only available with manual transmissions not that long ago.

I kind of agree with Levi, the Supra and the M2 are the only proper BMWs left, at least to the extent that modern emissions requirements allow. Everything else are just a bunch of bland luxury cars with Brawndo styling to align with the times.

Their electric cars are clearly forced out of compliance, so while they are at it might as well milk it to the max by slapping a few M badges.

At least they still build sick bikes.

I really hope these western legacy car brands will actually wake up and continue to make what their customers want, instead of wasting their money to satisfy some idiots' stupid ideologies and agendas. Some of the smaller car brands that heavily rely on the European market are probably having it the worst right now. Like for example, French car manufacturers are known for making hot hatchbacks, but many European countries' current taxation methods have pretty much discouraged these small euro brands from continuing to make any ICE hot hatchbacks, and the EVs that are replacing them are overpriced for the performance that they offer.

What is wild to me is Dodge of all people folded with EVs. If they continued with the V-8 or at least made it an option they would be milking marketing. What a massive miss. Probably a ton of “i told you so’s” happening

Instead we got battery dodges. Yuck

If you walk into any BMW dealership you can drive away with a M car on the same day, likely with a manual transmission too.

If you walk into a Lexus dealership and ask for a F car they will tell you to come back in 5 years, maybe, if the salesperson knows what a F car is.

How sad and true this is. My salesperson didn’t even know that the RC F and LC 500 share the same engine…

A car brand where performance is one of their main selling points vs another brand where it isn't (it somewhat used to be one of their selling points, but they don't seem to care anymore since they probably no longer feel the need to do any more brand building).

Toyota to reveal all-new exciting and surprising battery electric vehicle

Featuring a sleek and stylish coupe design combined with elevated driving dynamics and surprising space, comfort & versatility, this all-new battery electric model is inspired by Toyota’s heritage of creating products with strong emotional appeal that bring wider choice to customers.
Stay tuned for the reveal on March 12, 2025, 00:01am CET

That is a strange time for a European reveal: midnight in Western Europe on March 12, 2025 is 7:00pm Eastern Time, i.e. prime time on the US Eastern Seaboard (New York, Detroit) and 4:00pm in Los Angeles.

And notice the format of the date: Mmm dd, yyyy is the American-preferred format, whereas dd Mmm yyyy is the preferred format in Europe.

I believe this is aimed at the North American audience as much as it is aimed at Europe.

Taillight design is different from BZ3C. This body design should be the basis for a new C-HR EV.

The BZ3X is a traditional box-shape SUV, which I think will be the basis for the next-gen RAV4 EV after they get rid of the BZ nameplate. BZ will live on in China since it sells pretty well and the localized name is really good.
