An interview with a LC250 engineer responsible for front and rear suspension design. Summary of LC250 platform vs. LC300:

>> The completely new parts are the front and rear crash structures. The goal is to minimize overhang while still passing crash tests.

>> Frame panel thickness reduced by 10% and suspension component thickness reduced by 5-10%. They were able to reduce as much weight as possible while keeping frame rigidity the same.

Depending on how you look at it: the F2 platform is a more optimized F1 platform with minimum possible overhang and minimum possible weight, OR a decontented F1 platform with less margins and growth potential.

They surely did a very impressive job with weight reduction. The LC250 2.4T hybrid only weighs 2285kg with a GVM of 3050kg. The LC150 2.8 turbodiesel weighs 2390kg with a GVM of 2990kg. They reduced kerb weight by 105kg while increasing payload by 165kg. The LC250 is also the same size and capability as the LC100, but weighs less despite all the modern interior tech, safety systems, and a hybrid powertrain.

In Europe LC250 gets the same diesel as the LC150. So new one while bigger should still be lighter? Fuel tank is smaller though. Design does make the new LC250 look heavy though.

Can't see too much of the interior from pics, but the cabin looks well protected and intact. I looked at that Reddit thread and allegedly the crash was with a semi? If that's true, this new Land Cruiser looks very safe indeed.

Europeans & their brands talking about learning how "Africans/Moroccans live out here" after the shameful history of their behaviour out there is actually, legitimately crazy.

"Oh it's so humble and historic!"
*Groups like the French have been robbing the country/region for generations, were 95% of the countries trade deficit in 1950.*

Prado enters production at FAW-Toyota's Chengdu plant. The J150 (facelift) was in production for only 3 years before the 7GR-FKS V6 engine had to be discontinued due to emissions. I hope the 2.4T doesn't have emissions problems this time. At the event they also seemed to confirm the 2.5 multi-stage hybrid system on the Crown will be produced by FT as well.

That Ward kit is tragic.

My brother picked up a Premium package Land Cruiser on Monday. Heritage blue, 20" wheels. Really a sharp looking vehicle and it makes my '23 4Runner Pro feel... much older. haha

ward kit is geared towards those who also bought this and need the extra compensation in specific departments.
