A car with such a midship layout is currently under development in collaboration with Toyota, Suzuki, and Daihatsu.

It is said that the platform will be newly developed for midship while making use of the front suspension of Yaris GA-B.
Suzuki is in charge of engine development, and it is convincing that it will be a mild hybrid that combines a 5ps motor with improvements based on the K10C type 996cc, inline 3DOHC turbo installed in Hustler and others.

New Midship Sports Expected specs
・Overall length: 4200mm
・Overall width: 1720mm
・Overall height: 1220mm
・Wheelbase: 2550mm ・
Vehicle weight: 1000kg
・Power unit: 1L, straight 3DOHC turbo + motor
・Maximum output/maximum torque: 120ps/20.0kgm
・Maximum motor output: 5ps
Transmission: 6-speed MT/6-speed AT
Estimated price: 2.2 million to 2.8 million yen

Manual is good. Considering Alfa 4C weighs 1000kg and makes 230 PS or Alpine A110 weighs 1100kg and makes 250 PS, this one will be considered slow. It better cost half of what the former two cost (60k).

True, but @carguy420 was saying "if this project is actually real", and I said it is. Whether it will see production is a whole other argument.
I would be lying if I said don't want this little sports car to go into production, and please be a global product rather than a Japan-only thing. If this car truly goes into production, it might be the only brand new sports car that I can actually afford.
