No surprise that Lexus sales dropped so much versus last year. All carmakers are going through this due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Worth noting, though, is that January and February 2020 sales actually increased a bit versus those months in 2019, but then in March coronavirus came and wiped out those gains, and then some. And the Lexus USA Newsroom noted that 2 models did see increased sales during the first quarter of 2020 versus the same period in 2019: UX Hybrid (up 6%) and LS Hybrid (up 9.1%).

Interesting that the UX and LS Hybrids went up...was it pent up demand? I'm looking at the deals, and it doesn't look too different from months before. IS is still the best lease deal of the lineup, obviously because its the oldest.

Surprised the number isn't close to zero. What kind of people dare go out buy cars these days!

Hope all the dealership employees are still getting paid full amount, although without commissions their income could see a huge drop.

People are even still buying and renting houses during this. My neighbor moved last weekend, which surprised me. Apparently the protocol is that the buyers come in a separate car from the realtor and the realtor waits outside the house and answers questions from a safe distance.

Exactly. Here in California with the largest Lexus dealership (Longo Lexus) on the west coast they are still selling cars even though their sales floor is closed. They are selling cars online and delivering cars to their customers. Our economy has slowed down bigtime but hasn't completely stopped.

Corona Edition!

Surprisingly, Lexus doing very well in Europe comparing to the European carmakers!

Whole TMC is doing great with hybrid lineup. Expensive new Corolla has been a huge hit, C-HR continues to sell great, Rav4 is back in force and Yaris CUV will bring their sales levels to something unbelievable before.

UX is doing crazy, and NX and RX are doing well... even ES sold something. Next steps would be new CT and IS, and not sure what else for Europe.

On the other side, Europeans did not recover yet from WLTP and time for plugins and ev's is not there yet, so TMC has few years bring their A game with that and continue doing well.

Lexus should also bring in a 2 row GX as well which would be at a lower price point and have more cargo room than the 3 row GX. Bring in a diesel variant, a hybrid (GX 500h) and a GX 570 as well. This would also increase sales as well. F Sport the GX as well...and bring in Android Auto and more USB's...

They invested a ridiculous amount of money into the most complex ICE ever mass-produced. Yet it is put into a trash product.

Good for the NX...it has a decent lease going on
