The Vasser Sullivan #14 Lexus RC F GT3 finished fourth in the GTD Pro class at the Rolex 24 at Daytona to open the 2022 IMSA Championship season.
Drivers Jack Hawksworth, Ben Barnicoat and Kyle Kirkwood were hit with two penalties in the first 12 hours of the 24-hour race, including a three minute and 30 second stop in the Vasser Sullivan pit box.
Barnicoat was making his Rolex 24 debut, started fifth and made his way into the lead of the GTD Pro class in the first 15 minutes of the race. The drivers went on to lead 42 laps over the 24-hour period. The #14 was in the fight right into the closing minutes of the race before finishing fourth.
The Vasser Sullivan #12 Lexus finished 15th in the GTD class in the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona with drivers Aaron Telitz, Frankie Montecalvo, Townsend Bell and Richard Heistand.
The Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3s return to action at Florida’s Sebring International Raceway for the 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday, March 19.
