A study released by YourMechanic on the cost of vehicle ownership has calculated the average maintenance of a Lexus at $7,000 over ten years. This makes the brand the least expensive luxury vehicle to own and third lowest overall.

For comparison, BMW is the most expensive brand to own with a ten year average of $17,800 and Mercedes is next at $12,900. Toyota has the least expensive cost-of-ownership at $5,500, and the Prius is the most reasonable vehicle to own with an average of $4,300 in maintenance over ten years.
