Lexus August 2015 Sales Report

USA

Lexus USA has reported 33,487 total sales for August 2015, a 6.0% improvement over last year — here’s the model-by-model breakdown:

Total Sales 33,487 32,809 6.0 222,151 198,831 12.3

Please note, all percentages are calculated by the Daily Sales Rate (DSR), which takes into account the number of days in the month that dealerships could sell cars. August 2015 had 26 selling days, August 2014 had 27 selling days.

Much like last month, the SUV lineup lifted Lexus sales to a respectable 6.0% increase over last year. The NX continues to prove its worth with 4,448 units sold, and the RX selloff before the arrival of the new model has proved successful with nearly 10,000 sold in August.

On the other hand, the car numbers have dipped, with all models but the ES recording a double digit drop in sales. There is room for hope, however — the updated ES has started arriving in dealerships, and the updated GS will be released before the end of the year.

Looking at the overall luxury automotive sales in the USA, Lexus has once again finished first — here are the results:

  1. Lexus USA: 33,487 units
  2. Mercedes USA: 31,250 units
  3. BMW USA: 27,755 units
  4. Audi USA: 18,794 units

Two big months from Lexus has pushed them to second overall in the 2015 sales race, just 1,197 units behind BMW for the top spot. It’s all set up for a huge push to end the year, should be an interesting result!

If the ES wasn't around Lexus would definitely sell more GS's and IS's. Spectacular numbers nevertheless, they will definitely close this year with the top spot.

Once the LX, GS, RX, ES and the other IS options sales will continue to grow even more. If Lexus introduces a new LS and LC next year their numbers will increase a tremendous amount leading them back to the sales record.

Mercedes' number is only 31,250 when smart and Sprinter are counted, which they shouldn't be! Mercedes' August sales is really 28,373, not 31,250!!

Is there a mis-print in the third line from the bottom of the sales table for August? It seems one more number than there are columns.

Bmw only sold ninety 7 series?! That has to be some sort of typo, I know there is a redesigned model, but wow!
