Lexus Dominates Consumer Reports Reliability Rankings

Lexus has finished first overall in the annual Consumer Reports Reliability rankings, with nearly every model leading in its respective category.

The IS 350 took top spot in Luxury Compact Cars, and the CT 200h & ES 300h finished first and second in Hybrid/Electric Cars.

The LS 460, ES 350, and GS 350 were first, second, and fourth in the Luxury Midsized/Large Cars category, while the Lexus RX 350, RX 450h, and GX 460 took the top three spots in Luxury Midsized/Large SUVs.

Additionally, the CT 200h was first overall as the most reliable vehicle in the study.

(As an FYI: Audi ranked 5th overall, BMW was 14th, and Mercedes was 24th.)

That CLA really did some damage, but it's exactly what I expected to happen. I mean, what do you expect with a Mercedes Benz for <$30,000? Like how did you expect that Mercedes reached that price, obviously by cutting corners and killing and quality they might have once had in the brand. It really is quite amazing Lexus takes the top, as I was actually concerned that all the new technology and changes would potentially hinder quality. I should've thought otherwise, and I'm just underestimating the sheer quality of Lexus. Hopefully the new models will be the same way, but I'm sure they will be. It is, after all, The Relentless Pursuit of Perfection!

25 years of reliability dominance in North America with its proven track record gives consumers full confidence in their product. There's no doubt in my mind Toyota/Lexus have the top brains in the industry from management to engineering, though I will "complain" about the marketing and product/options availability folks! :) I have no doubt the NX and RC will be top in their class. In fact, I put my money on a new IS last year (no issues) and now NX before they're out!

I agree, it would be more surprising if Lexus wasn't at the top of the list...its their selling point no doubt.
