David Vivian of EVO Magazine has driven the TMG-developed Lexus LS-based TS 650, and clearly loved every second behind the wheel:
There can be no argument here: the TS-650, when you put your toe all the way down, is blisteringly, almost surreally, rapid in a straight line. But what is surprising is how benign and relaxed the external visual & aural violence seems from behind the wheel.
But however many liberties I take, there seems to be all the time in the world to sort things out, the big car drifting so progressively under power in the slower turns, you’d swear you were in a Toyota GT86.
No other performance limo goes, sounds, handles and stops like the TS-650. If it could be produced, even at £150,000, I’m sure it would sell. But don’t hold your breath.
When TMG first announced the TS 650, there was a lot of excitement about its twin-turbo V8 power, but obviously there’s much more to this monster LS.
It’s no small accomplishment to have a magazine like EVO rave about a Lexus “limo”, but TMG pulled it off — in the final verdict, Vivian gives the TS-650 a full five stars.
