Lexus LS 600h F SPORT Debuts at Paris Motor Show

Along with the much-discussed Lexus LF-CC concept, the LS 600h F SPORT also debuted at the Paris Motor Show:

Unavailable in North America, the LS 600h F SPORT is a standard-wheelbase performance-optimized hybrid, merging the 438-horsepower V8-electric engines with F SPORT. Like all Lexus hybrids, power is sent through a continuously variable transmission (CVT), though paddle shifts are equipped to simulate gear changes.

Other additions include 6-piston Brembo front-brakes, an active stabilizer system, and all the same F SPORT appearance upgrades seen in the standard model.

(I did have the chance to drive this model in August, and was very impressed with performance hybrid combination.)

"though paddle shifts are equipped to simulate gear changes." Wish they hadn't done that. That's the kind of thing the boys on Top Gear would make fun of this car for. It's beautiful though. It looks fast even while standing still.

Gear issue: I agree.  And it even doesn't simulate the gears, it can only hold a gear to create brake-effect when running down the hill.  Paddle shifts are completely pointless on the cvt-like hybrid transmission.  It would be great if Lexus engineers could simulate gear shifts electronically when drive mode select in Sport or Sport+
