Virtual Test Drive of the 2013 Lexus ES 300h

Winding Road has posted an unusual but effective video featuring the 2013 ES 300h from the driver’s point-of-view (they recommend wearing headphones while watching):

This makes for an interesting perspective — go fullscreen in HD and it’s a convincing virtual tour of the ES experience. I’m impressed with the concept, and think it’s a great way for potential customers to take a quick test drive.

The CVT's response to instant acceleration? Make the engine into one loud constant groan, instead of a progressive growl BD

    It is indeed... interesting. aha Some artificial shift points rather than a little revving would've been nice, but that definitely would be a lot of stress on the CVT. Then again, I'm sure that the CVT in the LS 600h L has to deal with so much more.
