2010 Lexus RX Added to Accelerator Pedal Recall

The 2010 Lexus RX 350 & RX 450h have now been added to the 2009 recall that addresses the possibility of unsecured or incompatible floor mats entrapping the accelerator pedal.

2010 RX owners will receive notification by first class mail in early August 2012, and Lexus dealers will perform the recall fix at no cost to the customers.

For detailed information, you can get details on the Lexus website or call the Lexus Customer Satisfaction line at 1-800-255-3987.

Update: In my haste to publish this story, I mistakenly included 2013 in the title rather than 2010. Sorry for any confusion.

Update 2: The 2010 RX recall has also been extended to Canada.

Is the title an error?

It's surprising that Lexus feels the need to recall their mats when they are most probably the safest in the industry and no other manufacturer do it.

well aint that great. I find that this 'floor mat' issue is very much related to user error. My other non lexus car (BMW) has floor mats that can slip and creep forward under the pedal and cause some stickage, but im not gonna go sue BMW or the floor mat company. So yeah there may seriously be an issue, but a lot contributes to a major problem.

Does any know if the RX without the f-sport has been tuned for better handling? And if the F-sport Rx has a louder intake as the GS f-sport has?
