TTAC Comparison: Lexus GS 350 AWD vs. BMW 528i xDrive

Right after my complaint about the constant Audi A6/Lexus GS comparisons, The Truth About Cars has something different — the BMW 528i xDrive vs. the Lexus GS 350 F Sport AWD.

(Spoiler alert — the GS F Sport “best combines performance and luxury”, and takes the top spot.)

hmm I notice all these articles that compare the gs to its competitors they are reluctant to say that lexus is better than the bmw. I can't believe they said that the528xi is better than the lexus. MT showed that the gs even beat out the a6 n 535i. Typical BMW D@CKS

    Not overall just in some handling aspects they implied that the Lexus was better

    I don't have anything to base this on, but I think the next IS is going to be something special.

    Same here,but the current model is so good already that my imagination just seems incapable of invisioning the next model.I am not sure if I can wait any longer!

     Imagine an IS350 with all the F-Sport tuning parts and more powerful engine. That's how good the new IS will be right out of the factory.

    I have recentley driven the 2012 IS350 F-sports and it was an incredible car.. The performance was truly spectacular, everything was perfect, handling was sharp the car was very fast and had a beautiful growl when you floor it.. Design was nice and I terror was very nice.. It's hard to imagine that the IS is 7-yrs old car!

I'm counting down the days until May 21st. That's when my local dealer will get the first new GS; a black 450h F Sport with red interior. Drool-o-rama!

    Is the US getting a 450h f-sport? I read somewhere that the us isn't getting this variant

Also it is worth mentioning that the IS350 is faster then BMW 335i, from 0-60mph the IS350 is faster.. The 335i feels heavy, the IS350 just seems to cruise effortlessly and acceleration is extreme and without hesitation

I think the GS handles worse in this particular comparison because it's the AWD version. Toyota/Lexus's AWD is never known for its on-road performance. Quite the opposite actually. Hopefully Toyota/Lexus will put some effort in developing an AWD system worthy of this century. Don't think they improved it much since the 90's.
