Lexus LFA Races Ferrari 599 GTO in the Scottish Highlands

Although I featured the EVO article comparing the Lexus LFA to the Ferrari 599 GTO last year, I never actually posted this accompanying video:

I have to quote Richard Meaden’s comments at the end:

“Although [the 599 GTO] is amongst the best Ferraris I’ve ever driven, I think the LFA is the one that will stick in my mind — I’ll remember this drive for a long time.”

(Thanks DuDE!)

I'm not a fan of Clarkson's auto reviews but I do love the challenges and road trips. Would love to see them take the LFA on one of those trips

Top Gear did an ok review, this video was still their opinion not really a proper review.... Top Gear 'Evidence' - No Clarkson review or opinion, but whatever, wet lap board time!! - it would have been close to the top and they know it, if it were dry, no nurburgring ed review or lap to test against the best, yet ?....

I get goose pimples in my butt cheeks just thinking about the next Lexus hyper-car. Imagine how brilliant that would be smh. V12, maybe?

LOVED the comment about how incredible it was that the LFA had seemingly come out of nowhere—it is not a car with a long tradition.  But then, neither was 400LS.  What this means is that Lexus (Toyota) can build any genre it chooses and be world-class right out of the gate. I feel extremely privileged to drive something so incredibly well-made.  We have two (LS and GS) and love them both.

"Incredibly well-made"?! I have som doubts about that after hearing and reading about the GS' severe rattle-problem like this video.  I must say though, my own Lexus, not a GS, is problem free. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42rcnzo-b_I

I've read at clublexus.com that also 2008 GS' has the extreme rattle-problem. Thats post facelift, is it not? According to what I have read there, it isnt a minor problem either.

Our GS is a 2006.  It came with some optional run-flats that did indeed shake the interior.  But since the car had a spare, we ditched the run-flats and replaced them with Continental Contact Extreme DWS.  They are quiet, handle magnificently even on wet or snowy surfaces, and best of all, that GS now rides like a Lexus with NO interior noises.  Amazing what real sidewalls will do.  It is not serene like the LS, but it makes up for that by being amazingly, absurdly fast.  We have become fast friends with a twisty stretch of road that follows a riverbed.  I spent six weeks shopping for those tires—it was worth every bit of effort.
