New Lexus Concept to Debut at Detroit Auto Show

Lexus has announced that a new concept will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January — here’s a sneak peak in full resolution (click for the larger image):

Very similar to the angle used in the GS F Sport teaser, this headlight closeup suggests the next-generation IS — though in my heart of hearts, I’m hoping it’s the new SC.

I’m going to continue looking over the image pixel by pixel, but in the meantime, here’s the teaser image in all the various desktop wallpaper sizes:

So stoked! Spindle grille - check A more creative daytime running LED's - check Less predictable but classy headlight shape - CHECK! Production headlights will probably just be a "stacked" version of the GS. /:

    On some cars ... concept wheel is resized when it put into production , but some car continue use the wheel size . If this is the nest Lexus SC , I don't think Lexus will put 21-inch wheel as it have only 35% , bad for comfort .

    From this angle shot it resembles the looks of Jaguar XK and Aston Martin Rapide lines......Great if it is next generation  SC....would be thrilling for the line up and sales.....

    This is where I agree----it looks like it would carry over in terms of a classier LEXUS smaller sports car----I think you are right in stating it is the LEXUS version of GT-86. I agree with KREW though that I am hoping for the SC.......Personally, if it is the SC concept  then the front is not as classy and refined as it should be...... Whatever the turn out, I am thrilled that so much is happening like our fantsastic leader (Akio Toyoda) has mentioned he would do.....we are seeing an incredible jump of excitement and new product that is so badly needed......MR. TOYODA YOU ARE THE BEST!   KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK OF CREATING PASSIONATE AND SPORTY VEHICLES WITH THE HERITAGE OF REFINEMENT AND RELIABILITY.

If thats indeed a Lexus GT86 we have yet another Lexus that won't receive hybrid drive. Thought the LFA would be the last of that kind. At least thats what they have said a couple of months ago.

    That's what I'm talking about !     AKIO has such huge vision and the clout to make it happen-----can you imagine where LEXUS would be now if he had come aboard 10 or so years ago????

I will believe it when I see the production car. Right now it looks like LFA II Remember the IS concept? By the time it is production ready, it will be some hybrid car or some family sedan like an IS.

I REALLY HOPE ITS THE NEW SC!! I think this teaser looks waaay better than the teaser image of the GS concept!

Lexus just had a gathering of dealer principals in vegas and confirmed that this is called the LF-SC. They showed the car there before the Detroit Autoshow unveiling. They said it looks like a baby LFA. They were pretty stoked! It is going to be an exciting year for Lexus with so many new products coming. They also talked about the next new model intro which will be a small SUV early 2013.

    That should be based off the redesigned Rav4 Lexus is dropping the ball not making a bigger RX.  The GX can't compete with vehicles like the Mercedes GL.  The only truck should be the LX.   They're leaving money on the table....... BD

    If this is an SC concept, that means it's about 18 months from production. With a new GS, ES, and IS, I'd be shocked if it came out in 2012.  Lexus has a full plate already. I'd expect it after the LS is released in early 2013 BD

    My first thought were right then , Lexus Future Soarer ... new small SUV , good or not , I'm not sure but I know all-new Rav4 is about to be made too (based on it's life) , RX should be continue making , GX I'm not sure because it's not-so-nice for me but LX should be keep , it's gold in Lexus ! Baby LFA ... so it's a Coupe ?
