Lexus New Zealand Releases IS F Red Edition

Lexus New Zealand is releasing an IS F *Red Edition* with a special *Starlight Black* & *Red Leather* color combo that’s limited to just 10 lucky owners:

Lexus IS F Red Special Edition Interior 3

Each *Red Edition* will come with a numbered plaque (visible in the last photo above) and — get this — a licence plate sequentially numbered ISF001-ISF010.

**Update**: Turns out one of the 10 IS F *Red Edition* cars will be available in [a *Basalt Mica* exterior](https://lexusenthusiast.com/images/weblog/11-11-08-lexus-is-f-basalt-mica.jpg) — which may or may not be the same as *Nebula Pearl Gray*.

    I personally don't care for the red leather.  Seems to be the way automakers are going though like the Infiniti IPL G Coupe's red leather or their "limited edition" G Coupe with red leather.  I too noticed that the armrest, door panels, and seats still have blue stitching with the red leather.  I don't think it looks right at all.  They need to make the stitching red to go along with the color scheme or at least make it black/grey.

Gotta be honest, i think a deeper, richer red would be more "LEXUS" Too bright! Still a nice choice to have.

    Good point! It may just be the photo but the red looks a bit cheap is all. Looks MUCH better on the LEXUS website even though its photoshopped.

Honestly, it's way too bright and it reminds me of the cheap 1980's interior, a softer red (cabernet) would of been a hit IMO. I saw a Ultra Sonic Blue with red interior at Steven's Creek Lexus in San Jose it's alright. M3's Fox red interior it's way better.

Basalt is definitely Nebula Gray, since both share the 1H9 paint code. And Starlight Black is the same as the Stargazer Black from the current Lexus RX (paint code 217).
