The History of the Lexus LFA

This video history of the Lexus LFA is an excellent up-to-date review of the supercar’s development with plenty of archival footage:

Watching the development so closely these past years, it’s easy to forget just how epic the LFA’s story really is — a true testament to the personalities behind its creation. Kudos to Lexus Australia for putting together this video.

(Thanks Chris K.!)

Anybody who compares turbocharged Nissans or supercharged Chevys to this needs to put the blunt down! Stop being a loser all your life! BD

Not many people know, Horuhiko san was the chief engineer for the Supra MK4 Turbo back in 1990. I read his detailed contrasts between the two projects and he said, LFA was way more challenging and difficult to perfect since it had to be a naturally aspirated very high revving car with a target he set of 9500 rpm even before the engine was conceived. Case in point, he could have just made another Supra with a turbocharged V6 (since i6 are no longer developed by Toyota) and called it a day, but he took the difficult route of making the most perfect engine, sound and response with all the power without any turbocharged steroids

Agreed !    To compare this mechanical marvel of engineering to the others you have mentioned is ludicrous.......to the likes of a Filet Mignon to beef jerky. To some the comparison is all about price and power......

Thanks so much for your continuing efforts on this.

The LFA is the most sexy modern exotic especially compared to the current Lambo's line up, very boring (and the Aventador sound like an audi w12,I heard it from real in Roma). Instead Ferrari, wich I loved many years ago, is another question: they made awesome cars in the past but now they seems to forgot how to make handsome sexy cars and their last models (458 italia, FF, California) sounds very uninspired. Said by me that I'm italian.

' The Motor Report ' which is an Australian automotive website has just released a review of the LFA, worth the read. Check-out the picture at the bottom of the article which depicts the LFA, an IS-F and a CT F-Sport .... not a bad pic i thought. ' Australian Car Advice ' should be releasing thier review shortly. Cheers

' Carsguide.com.au ' has published a brief review of thier test drive of the LFA including an attached video with the article. A number of Australian automotive journalists were recently allowed to test drive an LFA (albeit very briefly) at a local Australian race track (Sandown) recently so expecting a number of reviews from aussie automotive jurnos / websites will be getting published over the next few days. Cheers Again

This is what  I have been waiting for......I am a believer that this type of exposure is what the world needs more of. The techno, design and Heritage of what the LEXUS DNA is made of.......displaying what makes this automaker stand apart and what makes this supercar worth every penny......Keep up the great work!
