Akio Toyoda Racing Lexus LFA at Nürburgring This Weekend

Lexus & Aston Martin will be sharing some special drivers at the VLN10 VLN9 Nürburgring race this weekend, as both Toyota President Akio Toyoda & Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez will take turns behind the wheels of the Lexus LFA and Aston Martin V12 Zagato.

Lexus test driver Akira Iida & AM Chief Platform Manager Chris Porritt will also take turns with both cars. An IS-F team (and the FT-86!!!) will also be participating.

Update: The race is now over, with the LFA finishing 87th overall and seventh in the SP8 class. The IS-F team finished last in the SP8 class, and the Aston Martin V12 Zagato did not finish.

Just realize one things ... the driver of LFA is , - Akio Toyoda - Akira Lida - Dr.Bez - Chris while Aston Martin Zagato's driver is , - Dr.Bez - Chris - Akio Toyoda - Akira Lida ... too bad the Zagato doesn't seems to finish the qualify season & the other two in Gazoo team is FT-86 & IS-F CCS-R .

I think this is awesome something like this to arch rivals and there CEO's sharing cars I like it alot I think they'll find out Aston Martin that is how good th GR LFA's really are as in Quali in last years 24 hr racw the LFA was about 20-25 sec's per lap quicker.

So what were the final standings?? Did the LFA win the race??? What about the overall standing??

Btw, it was the VLN9 race. VLN is just an endurance series held at The Ring (nearly monthly). Varying lengths. This weekend was 4 hours. Varying categories of runners. LFA came in 7th in class while IS F 8th in class (166th and 133rd over all). FT-86 was 3rd in class and 133rd overall. The entry list showed that Morizo and Dr Bez were entered for each others' cars because they were scheduled to swap cars and get a taste of each others' product. I didn't stay long enough to see what happened, sorry about that. Here's a pic of Morizo in the LFA ready to go http://twitter.com/#!/KryptonZone/status/125587221247045632 Btw, does anyone want a taste of that V10 roar as it flies out of the pits? I guess the answer is yes...? Check out this YouTube vid at 00:19 http://bit.ly/qkWxZs

Maybe, if they did not let Toyoda and Aston Martin CEO show some corporate diplomacy here and let the pros do their job, as usual LFA would have won the SP8 class.

I have a feeling winning the race wasn't really the prime reason for participating -- personally, I hope it brings Lexus & Aston Martin closer together. *drool*

Yeah, VLN is only a 4 hour race. Definitely, this race looked like more of an exhibition than an actual race for the sake of competition and winning.

same as me  dreamed always to look and found either Lotus or A.Martin in Toyota stablehope really even both
