Quick Look at the Lexus GS Bamboo Interior Option

Stumbled across this Response.jp photo of a 2013 Lexus GS with the bamboo trim option:

A closer look:

Definitely hits all the right notes. For whatever reason, I think it would be an interesting combination with the (still unseen) F-Sport model — the calm, peaceful interior and the amped-up exterior would be quite a juxtaposition.

I think is an amazing combination but what exterior colour fit with those interiors?

Interesting how a cheap material like bamboo can be considered so classy and used in a Luxury car like LEXUS. Usually you will see a hardwood or a knotty burl wood.

My father's CT has bamboo dash trim, and it's so beautifully executed. It really has to be seen to be appreciated. I like how the interior colour and trim options offer such a wide range of looks. The flaxen leather with bamboo will give the interior a whole other "mood" from say black leather with striated aluminum .

I believe it! I love the look of bamboo, especially since no other car brand has done it.. at least i think not.

I didn't notice the step-down on the center console before (from ash-tray/change door to gear selector), on the darker wood interior shots in the gallery... the lighter bamboo makes it more noticeable (could be accentuated by a shadow, too)... not sure if I would have liked a more continuous slope (I'll have to see it in person).

Ehh, I'm not a fan of light color interior, but maybe change the leather seat color and it'll make me think differently but everything else flows.

I recently installed bamboo flooring in my house and it looks so nice. It has a fresh and clean look.  Mine is a light yellow color instead of  the darker color used in the car.  I don't know about it usage in a car though.  From the pic, I'm not too impress, but maybe in person, it looks great.  It looks like  the bamboo has been overly baked to give it that darker color.

Stunning! This car is now light years ahead of the new Mercedes E-class in terms of interior styling. I haven't been inside the new BMW 5-series yet to compare, but looking at pictures I would now give the Lexus the nod.

Lexus made a huge leap with the GS interior. Way more beautiful than e-class and 5-series.

Not only in the interior, but exterior as well.....I have been observing the millions of drivers here in Houston and the E class is everywhere. The rear end will look very dated and out of style soon. The all red tail lamps on the E look so yesterday. I am so anxious for  the beautiful flowing "L" design for the GS with the amber and red LED. It will be different from anything out there.

I seriously do not understand why anyone gets the Eclass.. It has like nothing attractive aboutbit.. It's overpriced and ugly like any other Mercedes.. And the thing I don't understand is why the current GS is such unpopular..

I can't agree more !   The current GS is still after it's 2005 debut a timeless work of art. It is really what so many other automakers have copied with the flowing graceful roofline and the smooth ageless style. That car like so many LEXUS looks so new even 6 years later. The L Finess was really well thought out and still is copied. The Audi sedan that that is fashioned to look like a MB CLS is an old looking car already. I see them often and they look so dated as the older CLS does.
