Lexus LFA Wins SP8 Class in Nürburgring VLN4 Race

The #119 Lexus LFA, finished first in SP8 class at this weekend’s VLN 4 race at Nürburgring. The winning drivers were Oshima Kazuya, Wakisaka Juichi & Ishiura Hiroaki. Two LFAs started the race, but #111 LFA ended up with a busted suspension after a collision in the first corner.

With this result in the books, there’s only one more VLN race before Nürburgring 24h at the end of June — excited to follow along again this year.

Agreed. The LFA racing is heavily detuned (restrictors resulting in 7500 rpm rev limit and 480 PS)  just to fit it into the near-stock 4.0 - 6.2 Liter SP8 class. They now need to move into the GT class where they can mod the hell out of the LFA and compete in that class.

The LFA is an incredible piece of engineering. But at the end of the day, credits go to the driver as well. Driver and car working in perfect harmony to win. Amazin' Would love to see Lexus achieving even greater successes in the future. (...and build another supercar with unlimited production)

Very good point -- I've added the drivers to the post.

Detuned and it still wins.
