The Lexus RX goes on the offensive in this new commercial:
Bringing competitors into the mix is something that we saw last month in the IS & ES commercials, and it signals a new, more aggressive direction in Lexus advertising. Cool concept, too.
I'm not sure about this one. In terms of fuel economy, of those SUVs shown no doubt the Lexus leads and innovates. But the current X5 is a way better performing SUV, really not even in the same category. Same for the Q5.
I own a 2000 RX300 and am dying to trade it in for a more performance orientated mid-size to compact SUV, and unfortunately, Lexus does not have any in that category. Plus what Lexus did to the dash controls with that triangle/gear shifter chaos hurts my eyes. If money was no option, I'd already have my order in for the new 2011 X3 xDrive35i. However, I respect the fuel economy of the RX450H.

I think what a great deal of consumers forget here is that the RX was the first midsize Luxury Crossover over a decade ago-----this should have been included in advertisement. Copies of the smalller Luxury crossovers came about becasue of LEXUS---larger SUV's had been around for quite some time---everyone jumped in to follow LEXUS' leasd after the orginal RX came out with a bang in late 90's.
@Mike DeLorca: I've always recognized the RX that way, but I can't help recognizing the fact that the ML went on sale before the RX and was first introduced in that one Jurassic Park film in 1997.
In the end, it's obvious that the ML was and has always been awful, and the RX has slowly become an icon like an iPod only that it's actually great and useful.
