More 2011 Lexus IS F Details

Lexus Europe has released further details on the 2011 Euro-spec IS F, which will be getting a number of exterior & interior design changes for the new year:

  • 5.0 litre V8 is now Euro 5 compliant
  • The HID headlights will get getting the arrowhead LED daytime running light strip
  • New Starlight Black exterior color
  • Dark silver fibre insets
  • Contrast stitching changed from white to blue
  • Revised seat design
  • New steering wheel
  • LFA-inspired instrument panel

Here’s the full photo gallery:

The biggest change has to be the new instrument panel, which is dominated by a massive tachometer:

2011 Lexus IS F Instrument Panel

With no way to swap the tachometer & speedometer dial position, I was somewhat lukewarm on the new IP — until I saw the digital speed display, a feature I absolutely love.

Great update — I’ve included all the European details after the jump.

• Euro 5 compliant 5.0 litre V8
• Enhanced exterior and interior design
• Revised instrument cluster for greater clarity

Powered by a Euro 5 compliant, 5.0 litre V8 engine generating over 300kW at 7000rpm and 500Nm.ft of torque at 5200rpm and mated to an 8-speed Sports Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission with manual, paddle shift override, Lexus’ ultra-high performance sports saloon, the IS F, is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically governed top speed of 270 km/h.

Building on a range of technical enhancements introduced last year, including the incorporation of a Limited Slip Differential which offers a marked improvement in traction and stability levels during high speed cornering, the 2011 Lexus IS F has been further enhanced through both exterior and interior upgrades.

It now features High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps with integral, arrowhead, LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL). The choice of exterior colours has been expanded with a new Starlight Black GF finish.

On board, the IS F benefits from new dark sliver fibre inserts, and a change of contrasting stitching for the leather upholstery from white to blue. A revised front seat design offers improved driver support, and a new steering wheel improves grip and feel.

A new driver’s instrument design repositions the tachometer, speedometer and shift indicator within the binnacle for instant legibility and maximum clarity during high speed driving. The large, centrally positioned tachometer incorporates a rev indicator to help enhance gear shift operation characteristics. The rev indicator illuminates in three steps –at 5000 rpm, at 5500 rpm and at 6200-6550 rpm, depending on the gear step.

Not sure if this is new, but the center stack seems to sport a black gloss finish... anyways, an improvement -- though I was expecting a little bit more.

They probably should've checked out the 1st generation IS for the temperature and fuel gauges.

Wow... How can ANYONE call this car.. ugly? IMO and not cause I like Lexus... the ISF look tons better then the M3 and C63. The ISF is very classy and a beast at the same time.. Cant wait to see this in person... the current ISF looks bad ass already.

I also love the new gauges and the interior seems like a very nice place to be... anyone sat in a bmw BORING. I'm very happy Lexus gave the go ahead to this car... its near perfect... All I want Lexus to do now is make a limited edition ISF with more power, less weight and so fourth

@Travis: Well, if you looked at the disproportionate long-ish nose in real life, you will understand why it is called "ugly". Never been a fan of the IS-F and never will be.

Love is now written with the letter "F"

@RollaXRS: I've seen it in person. It looked great! @LFAaddict: Oh...YEAH!
L
@seal: Can't wait.
L
@WorldofLuxury: Haha, this is L.A. I see ISF's at least once every 2 or 3 weeks. Never fail to amaze me.
L
The US site is now showing the ISF as 2011. But only when you click on it.

@LFAaddict: I do see a few IS F in my little, suburban city, but they're always making a trip to a high school... And all the LX 570 are making a trip to the mall or a nearby Costco...

@LFAaddict: And you're a little ahead of Lexus. It's now 2011 everywhere it mentions IS F. ;-)

And they brought back captions for the pictures! Boring captions though... and some pictures aren't properly photoshopped... I also just noticed that the IS F doesn't have composite trim on the glovebox cover like in the new IS. I suppose I understand the lack of turning signal markers on the rear view mirrors, but... man-oh-man is Lexus cheap sometimes.

@RollaXRS: To make everything clear to you. I know 3 people that own an ISF. Two of them own 2008 model one in that wonderful blue and the one in that sharp pearl white and one owns a grey 2010. This car makes people stare at it. Even parked I see people look as they walk past.. I find myself staring and I already know what the car looks like. Its a beauty, its sleek and elegant. The nose fits it perfect looking at it you know this car means business. The ISF is FAR from "ugly". The base model IS looks like a females ride compared to this.

I remember the last picture that leaked out is having a different wheels , isn't it ? By the way , I'm seriously like the LFA~ish gauge & the SPORTS button on the steering wheel . Besides that , why don't Lexus put LED taillight into IS-F ?

The IS is now 2011 on the Lexus USA site, guessing they overheard me ;)
L
@LFAaddict: But it is HORRIBLY wrong, the colors, once clicked on in the 360 view, have nothing to do with what it says. The interior is also not yet updated as well as the exterior (in the 360 view.) C'mon Lexus..and there's no longer ultrasonic blue mica for the ISC? Are you kidding me?? That's the best color for that car! And now all you can have for the ISC interior, is black. With gray wood..

@LFAaddict: I hope they didn't get rid of the the ultrasonic, such an awesome color. I don't which i like better the ultrasonic or the spectra blue mica on the GS.

how much was the 2010 ISF in the US?

Again, does the 2011 still have the white interior option? I would love a silver ISF with white interior :-)
