For the most part, May sales were extremely positive — the GX was able to shake off any short-term effects of April’s recall and posted a sales gain of 111.5%, and the GS saw a significant boost after months of steady declines. All other models continued on the same upward slope that we saw the month before, with the exception of the LX and its 31.4% drop — most likely due to the introduction of the new GX.
Canada
Lexus sales in Canada dropped 10.6% compared to May of last year –still, GX 460 sales jumped 80%, and the RX 450h is drawing heavy interest with 61.1% increase.
Japan
There were 1,889 Lexus sales in Japan this month, up 4.1% over last year.
