The new 3 sells like crazy but it is far from the class leader in regards to driving dynamics it used to be...the IS, ATS and now XE all lick its chops....It wasn't even on C&D's 10 best list....

That was very surprising, never though anything could ever wipe the floor with a 335 M package like the Jag did. I never drove the current 335, much less one with M package, but the 328 xdrive loaners drive pretty lousy - just like your average pedestrian sedan with no hint of sportiness. However my old 335 coupe and current 235 are pretty damn awesome. I wonder if BMW just made the current 3 bloated and grown up on purpose, to be more of a comfortable ride than sporty. Whatever they are doing, the 3 series seems to sell more and more every month, so they must be doing it right.

Congratulations to Jag for building an awesome performance sedan. However it's interior has last decade written all over it. It's still utilizing a touch screen in the center console. Seriously Jag?

Remember all those arguments in the past about how the 3 sells b/c its sportiest in class and everything else sucks for not being spory Now that it isn't the sportiest in class, it sells more than ever.

Well, I guess it sells, or rather leases, on other merits. With all the tech gadgets its pretty appealing to a much broader range of customers - and it shows. The one thing that I clearly noted, with last generation 3 series there were A LOT more 335s, but with current one its almost always 328/428, which tells me that not many enthusiasts are getting them.
