Its been discussed here, the engine paired with the powertrain is meh, much like the Camry

I agree. That A25A is not a very refined engine. It is smoothed out by the hybrid system in my Camry Hybrid but it is still a loud engine and not a nice-sounding growl either, just a rough-sounding noise.

If only there's an ES350 AWD, that would be great.

He's partly right. In general, the ES line, IMHO, for a number of reasons, has been getting more cheaply-made, with less-attractive interior materials, and less-comfortable to drive since the superb 4th-Generation model, which, again IMHO, was clearly the best ES ever done.

He's probably correct, though, about the durability and reliability of the drive-train parts...a longtime Toyota/Lexus trademark.
