The 2022 Lexus GX 460 will be getting its first Black Line edition, featuring an exclusive Nori Green exterior paired with blacked-out details throughout the vehicle.
Also available in Starfire Pearl & Black Onyx, the GX Black Line comes with 18-inch wheels finished in glossy black, blackout chrome grille surround, a unique front & rear bumper design, black roof rails and body-coloured door handles.

Overall, these are nice changes that will extend its appeal for another few years. The matte wood is a welcome addition, and I do love the Nori Green, but it seems like the Black Line is going to be based off the GX premium, so if that's the case, Nori Green won't be available on the Luxury model. I guess you can't have it all 🤷‍♂️

I'd be tempted to upgrade if this had Lexus Interface, but going from one obsolete system to another doesn't seem particularly enticing to me as a 2021 GX owner. Still nice updates for those who are shopping now - or will be soon!

Very pleased with this. This makes it a much more compelling offering. Now it needs LSS 2.5+ or better.

I think these model years of GX460 will have the highest long-term value because they don't have an unusable infotainment system from 2005 but keeping the proven mechanical platform.

IMO: It may depend on the use case if someone wants it for off-road... adding crawl control and Multi Terrain Select to the 2010-2019 years is easy and cheap. 2020-2021 still isn't cracked and 2022 is a whole other level.

One can always add front and rear lockers though.

I do wish someone had figured out the MTS addition for 2020+ 😩

If it is similar to what it has taken to mod the 08-11 LC & LX 570s with 5 speed (versus 3 speed crawl), add on Multi Terrain Select, and off-road turn assist it could be substantially far more time, money and hardware.

Been wondering if I should upgrade or not...

I'm not "gotta have it" with CarPlay, but it would be nice to have Waze on the screen when I need it vs. holding my phone, as GA is a hands free state.

Random thing I dislike: Starting in 2022, Lexus replaced the wood trim around the window and lock switches on the door panel with black plastic. On my 2021, it's wood and does look much nicer IMO.

2021:

How hard is it to find a 22 comparable to yours now? My local dealer (small one) is showing 11 in stock, selling at MSRP, without reservation now at the moment. I could imagine the bigger dealers in Atlanta would have even more stock.

Impossible 😬. The last shipment of 2022s was 2 weeks ago and dealers are now waiting for 2023 allocations which haven’t been announced yet. On top of that, the Luxury model is the lowest volume and almost all GXs are pre sold here before they arrive.

However, I could custom order and wait, but I also have 0.9% financing on mine and I think Lexus around here is mostly quoting 4-5% with excellent credit. Not sure about that…

Interesting to see that a blackline, which is essentially a dolled up premium package was able to include the pano view monitor. I assume those could unlock MTS with a little bit of tinkering

I would love for someone to analyze the the differences of the telematics architecture of MY20-23. Did they rework everything so that MY22 headunit would not fit in the My20-21? In addition would MTS be easier to unlock in the My22-23s?

I hear interior appointments this year are already causing a ruckus amongst new Lexus buyers in the GX. The Blackline edition with boulder color wave, tailight colors apparently are sacrilegious.

Lexus partnered with Cruiser Outfitters to build this GX 460 Overland Concept, based on the 2022 GX 460 Blackline Edition, that retains its reputation to tackle difficult terrain and access remote backcountry, while maintaining the luxury accoutrements that cement it in the Lexus lineup. The goal of this project is to provide a vision that inspires customers to explore their world and enjoy the journey to the destination in an approachable, sustainable way.
