Lexus has been quiet on the IS-F front. It would look awesome with the 3rd Generation body style in my opinion. Mark Templin said there would be other F models, but not even a real hint that a new ISF is in the works. If there is, they are doing well in keeping it on the down low. Ugh! I want more power than my IS350 F!

Unfortunately, I doubt that it will happen for this generation. I think a second IS F was victim to Lexus' massive strategic shift to new platforms and all-new powertrains... wrong timing and wrong resources.

Part of it, of course, is the general decline of the sedan market in deference to SUVs.

Well, OK, maybe so......but the 350 is not exactly a slug. ;)

It's hardly a benefit to you now, but I think we see a next-generation IS F -- I remember hearing the current model was unable to accommodate the 5.0L V8, and if true, what a bad miscalculation on the part of Lexus planning.

Waiting will likely be disappointing since it's not happening anytime soon. :worried:

Either that, or they felt that the potential market for a full-F (which would accommodate the 5.0L) wasn't worth the cost of the planning and engineering. Sedans, in general, are also way down now in favor of SUVs.

I agree, the values of ISF have stayed within good value despite having nearly 85k that I've researched from CarMax. Wonder if they could just use part of the front RC-F... :)

Yes, please bring the IS F back. The F line in not complete without the IS F. Lexus would have probably sold more IS F's in this latest generation compared to the RC F and GS F or even combined. RC F is great but most would prefer a four door. GS F is great but more pricey and a little week compared to the competition (M5). IS F is just right...with the current (2UR-GSE) it would be able to compete with the M3.

IS F = M3
RC F = M4
GS F = M5
LC F = M8
LFA = M9

i think we all are. my heart sunk big time when they decided not to give us a second gen ISF. i was in sales back in 2014 when the last few new ones went out the door. actually, my dealership had the last new IS-F in the country, IIRC. it was ultrasonic blue with a carbon fiber roof. i remember standing around it one day with a few of my fellow product specialists thinking.. "wow, this is it. the last time anyone will be able to buy a brand new one, ever again." the RC-F, is a cool car thats a blast to drive, but its not an IS-F. i will say this! the GS-F is a monster and my current favorite of the bunch. it handles much like a "grown up" IS-F and has more of that feeling to it. hard to describe. unfortunatly the GS-F isnt a big seller, and i dont think its going to have a very long lifespan because of it.
