While the Panamera Sport Turismo may have made all the headlines earlier this week, Stuttgart's new wagon isn't the only sexy four door arriving on the floor of the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Mercedes-AMG is unveiling its GT sedan concept, a thinly veiled preview of the automaker's upcoming AMG GT-based sedan. Frankly, the teaser image looks phenomenal.

We'll have more details on the car soon, but for now all we can do is swoon over the sleek fastback shape pictured here. Like the Panamera to the 911, the GT sedan concept looks like a stretched AMG GT coupe. Where the Mercedes wins out is that the standard proportions of the AMG GT already fit for a front-engine car, whereas the 911's rear-engine shape doesn't translate as well to sedan form.

The car is most likely based on the AMG GT platform, meaning it should pack a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 and great driving dynamics. The full reveal is coming near, so look for more details over the next few days.

Days after its reveal at the Geneva Motor Show, spy shooters captured the Mercedes-AMG GT concept testing around Stuttgart, Germany. Yep, Benz wasn't bluffing. This concept is happening.

The slinky, coupe-styled four-door is covered in black-and-white camouflage in these images. The piercing headlights are evident, framing a prominent grille and a strafed hood. We also see large blacked-out wheels, and the prototype's fastback silhouette echoes the concept strongly.

The Geneva show car had a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that teamed with an electric motor to crank out an eye-watering 805 horsepower capable of hitting 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds. It's badged EQ Power+, which signals Mercedes' performance hybrid systems of the future. Not surprisingly, the concept car's huge chrome wheels and flashy Panamerica grille are not on this prototype.

Mercedes surprised the industry with this four-door model to complement its AMG GT coupe and convertible, and the company confirmed it plans to build something along the lines of the Geneva concept in the near future. "With the Mercedes-AMG GT concept, we are giving a preview of our third completely independently developed sports car and are extending the attractive AMG GT family to include a four-door variant," Tobias Moers, Mercedes-AMG chairman, said in a statement announcing the car.

The sedan continues the growth of AMG's portfolio. Next up, its hypercar will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

One of the best driving cars today. WIth more space and that interior to die for, this will help the GT sales tremendously.

Here's A Better Look At The Mercedes-AMG Sedan's Interior

Shortly after our spies were able to catch the interior of the upcoming Mercedes-AMG sedan up close, we’ve received a couple of additional images that show even more of the vehicle’s cabin.
S-Class and E-Class models. Also visible are four air vents in the center of the dashboard but unlike Mercedes-Benz’s current flagship sedans, they have more intricate slats, closely resembling the turbine of a jet engine.

Other visible features are few and far between thanks to the fabric engineers have placed over most of the interior panels. With that being said, a steering wheel just like the facelifted S-Class has been fitted to this prototype.

Last week, we received confirmation that AMG’s four-seater will premiere at January’s Detroit Auto Show in production guise.

It’ll be based on the same platform as the E63 and despite what early rumors suggested, won’t be dubbed the AMG GT4. A selection of variants will also be on offer, including a range-topping ‘63’ version with the E63’s twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 with 604 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque.
