I've read 600-700hp, but not close to 1,000 horses. Is that new info?
Very old info. I remember the reports would say 1000 PS or 986 hp. It made sense given how we were on the verge of having a Toyota hypercar that made the exact same power levels but it got cancelled and the R&D that was allocated for the GR Super Sport got allocated to this project and two other cars instead.

I've seen the newer reports saying it would be north of 800 horsepower. I'm still holding out on it hitting the 4 digit mark though. Given how insane the new Corvette ZR1 is, I hope the LFA can compete with it.

The ICE makes 700-720PS and that's set in stone. The total power will depend on their progress on solid state batteries. But given it's rumored to be a PHEV it should have at least 200PS from electric power alone.

This sounds about right. I've mentioned in this forums that you guys should expect a front-engined McLaren P1.

Can we expect Lexus to unveil this car at the upcoming Tokyo Mobility Show? I think it would be a great opportunity.

I don't think we'll see anything until next year. Maybe a preview concept next year, followed by serial production in 2026?

BestCar has consistently emphasized that the price of this LFR will be kept under 20 million yen (around 140k USD), but I don’t think that's realistic tbh.

Doesn't sound like Lexus to release a 1000 horsepower LFA for only 140k USD. Either this car will be much pricier or it will not make 1000 horsepower.

They're also questioning if it's delayed or cancelled, if I am reading the translation correctly?

They were questioning whether the car is cancelled during the period between 2021 and 2024, until they saw the real racing prototype. This suggests BestCar does not have insider information on this project. Usually when they post very realistic renderings, it's because the manufacturers intentionally "leaked" the info to them. But it's different this time.

BestCar's predictions on the LFR changed wildly from month to month. Sometimes they say the power output is 720PS, then 950PS, then 1000PS, and now 900PS. Sometimes they predict the price to be ¥50 million, sometimes ¥30-40 million, and now only ¥20 million (almost impossible, because the LX600 VIP costs ¥19 million in Japan). Sometimes they say it will be a 2+2 GT, and sometimes they say it's a 2-seater. They first said the GT3 race car will have an Inline-4 engine (maybe the 600PS variant of the 2.0), then they said it will keep RC-F GT3's 5.4L V8, and now they say it will have the 4.0L TTV8.

Lexus wants to keep the project secretive enough that even their designated scoop press is not given any info. They only show what they want to show to the public.
