In regards to the SUV/XUVs is interesting to see a decrease. Customer advertised incentives went up, sales went down, and incentives for August are the same as July.

Just to add, what I can see on the lowest spectrum currently

MY19 for the movers and shakers in the lineup
IS sales discount with purchase cash is 19-20% off yet a 38% loss in sales (does not differentaite for lease or cash sales)
ES, NX RX discount with purchase cash is 14, 15, and 16% off respectively. and a 4.6 increase in the ES, while both the XUVs lost 8-9%.
UX is 11-12% off no data since first MY sales.

They need to speed up in refreshing their cars. LX needs a refresh. They should do better at GX refresh. RX refresh is late for a year and brings no big changes. GS out sells RC but they want to give up on GS? IS also should be refreshed for MY2020 but haven't heard anything. Infotainment is the easiest to do but they are not doing anything. I feel the whole company is frozen this year. I feel they are just sitting there doing nothing but hope all the cars will sell. It won't happen. More fancy cars coming next year. C8 is gonna dominate performance market. BMW and Audi are having a great number of refreshes this and next year. They are also pushing some new vehicles like 8 series, Q8, and X7. Audi is selling etron now and will have etron gt soon. Lexus will lose their high end market quickly. Their performance department is also miserable. Their competitors are faster and faster. They need more performance models and more power(I'm a GSF owner). New RCF is not powerful enough to attract customers like me. Entry segment too. IS buyers are turning to model 3, new BMW 3 series and A4 next year. I have 4 Lexus and want to refresh one of them next year maybe. I for sure will not buy another one if they are still lazy AF.

Meanwhile Toyota is gaining almost everywhere. TNGA products are doing very strong while the DSR decrease is mostly from products close to EoL.

Lexus has consistently underperformed in U.S. compared to the parent company since the beginning of the year. Being two years behind is plain unacceptable.

Here in Portugal with a 4,9% market drop YoY (147.031 units), Lexus sold 33 for July and 318 units for 2019 (346 units last year).

To give some prespective Porsche has sold 358 units Tesla 1.649, Toyota 6.212 and Mercedes 10.161 (for 2019).

UX is just starting to to pick up.

For me, our CT is long overdue for a all-new-model, UX should perform very well. Also, some update for the NX would be very wellcome.

Above this (ES/RX/RC/LS/LC) our market it's quite small and BMW/Mercedes/Audi are very well perceived.

Also, isn't Lexus USA falling for a few months in a row?

It is sad to see LS sales number. Imo, Lexus LS should be gunning for comfort instead of sporty.

I assume it makes sense for toyota. TGNA, is the platform being used for all cars/xovers and is huge departure from the multiple old car platforms been riding on since the turn of the century.

Huge investment, so I assume they prioritized batches of vehicles that will give them the biggest return due to pure volume.

Toyota has more of these vehicles, so they come first. Lexus is slowly being transitioned since their return is probably lower.

Lexus' U.S. sales dipped 1.5 percent in July but the Toyota brand's 25,025 deliveries still outpaced year-to-date luxury leaders BMW and Mercedes-Benz during the month.

With the RX crossover leading the way with 9,247 deliveries, Lexus' light-truck sales rose 1.9 percent to 17,500 last month, while car deliveries fell 8.5 percent to 7,525. For the first seven months, Lexus sales totaled 160,760, a 0.2 percent increase.

BMW maintained its year-to-date lead with July deliveries rising 4.7 percent to 23,015; the brand's year-to-date sales rose 2.3 percent to 179,455. Sales of the BMW X3 crossover surged 33 percent to 5,690 while demand for the X5 increased 43 percent to 3,804. X4 crossover volume jumped 85 percent to 752.

Mercedes' July sales rose 23 percent to 24,612, narrowing the brand's decline in year-to-date deliveries to 3.8 percent. Mercedes' crossovers registered strong gains with the GLC rising 25 percent to 5,539 and the GLE gaining 19 percent to 5,301.

With July in the books, BMW leads Mercedes by nearly 7,500 vehicles for the 2019 luxury sales crown.

Total luxury sales could not be calculated for July because General Motors, FCA US, Ford Motor Co. and Tesla Inc. report only quarterly results. In the first half of the year, luxury light-vehicle sales dipped 0.5 percent vs. a 2.4 percent decline in the overall market.

The RX line is very successful and can't think of anything to improve it. There are already a 2 row and 3 row RX. Maybe introduce an electric version of the RX such as the RX 400e...but how many people will actually purchase an electric RX? I think the hybrid RX is just fine.

A Toyota Canada Newsroom release informs us that the Lexus luxury division reported July 2019 sales of 1,904 units, up 3.8%.

Having said that, aside from the new-for-2019 UX, only three Lexus model lines reported sales increases versus last month: IS (268 units sold, up 20.7%), ES (196 units sold, up 88.5%) and NX (586 units, up 13.6%).

Lexus should also bring in a 2 row GX as well which would be at a lower price point and have more cargo room than the 3 row GX. This would also increase sales as well. F Sport the GX as well...and bring in Android Auto and more USB's

Would it make sense for a new platform to coexist with new redesigned RX-L that would come out then? They`d have to make some kind of adjustment

With all due respect, if January-July 2019 LC sales in the U.S. are 764 units, I don't see them even surpassing last year's 1979 units, let alone 2500. I think Lexus will be lucky to hit 1600 units for the 2019 calendar year.

I agree, I originally projected the 2019 LC to hit 1,500 but changed it to 2,500 for some unknown reason. I posted late last night and I might have been really tired.

It is sad to see LS sales number. Imo, Lexus LS should be gunning for comfort instead of sporty.

There is nothing wrong with a sporting-luxury full size sedan with front mid-engine and dynamics to match, but with 5LS sales down to 300+ units/month over the past 2 months, while the S Class is on its 7th year and last few months yet outselling all new 5LS several times, with the 7 Series having replaced the 5LS as the top selling alternative to S Class - nothing wrong with sporting-luxury - just that 5LS has failed to capture the young Generation Y Sporting-Luxury buyer that President Akio targeted.

IMO, President Akio should forget about his personal tastes, and follow the market's requirements and go back to LS's grass roots as a full size luxury sedan, and outsell the pants off the S Class like the first 4 generations of LS's always did, and leave the front mid-engine sports-luxury to the Porsche Panemera and Maserati Quattroporte...
