What’s going on my name is Pietro. I’m new to this forum. I recently purchased my 2017 IS300 F sport about a month ago and I love it. Although I wanTed to Address the handling of the car and if anyone did anything to their car that improved it greatly. I feel with the stock tires on the car being pushed hard around turns it reaches it’s limit very quick and turns into a nervous drive once you reach that peak. I’m thinking a more performance driven set of all seasons would do the trick as it is a daily driver for me. If anyone has any feedback they’d like to share I’d love to hear and meet some other car/Lexus enthusiasts.

Welcome, Pietro.

I own a 2nd-gen (2011) IS 350 F Sport. I added F Sport accessory lowering springs and as soon as the factory tires wore out changed over to Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and have been quite pleased with the handling. Those are being discontinued in favor of the supposedly even better Michelin Pilot Sport 4S that I'm looking forward to trying for my next set.

Bear in mind, though, that those are what Tire Rack considers Max Performance Summer tires. I live in Florida so I can use those year-round. You mention all-season tires, so those may not work for you.

Yea I live in the New York City area so rain and snow are always a concern for me with a 20 min commute to work back and forth and to where ever else I might have to go I want to maximize the car as much as possible but also think about my safety in the process of doing all this.

You're asking us which one you'd go with, so you'll get all kinds of opinions, but what matters is what's important to you.

If power is what's most important to you, go for the 350. That being said, you're only going to get to 60 about four tenths of a second quicker than a 300. But really, if power is THAT important, you probably won't be getting an IS300 or IS350. There are faster cars that cost less.

However, if you're more concerned about aesthetics, go for the F-sport. The outside differences are not DRASTIC; I still think the non-F is a sharp looking car. But I will say that the interior on the F is a noticeable upgrade. The gauge cluster is cool as hell, the black headliner looks much better in my opinion, you have the option for Rioja red interior, and I do think the seats in the F are a bit more comfy.

If it were me, I would go for the 300 F-sport since the difference between 350 and 300 is probably something you won't notice unless you floor it at every green light. Go to your dealership and sit in a standard IS, then sit in an F-sport (preferably with Rioja red interior). Honestly, I think that might be enough to make up your mind.
