I find it ironic that Ferrari, Lambo, Bentley, Corvette, etc. are all going the hybrid route when even 5-10 years ago they wouldn't dream of it. Toyota invented the mass produced hybrid (Prius) and although they aren't "cool" they have such obvious benefits for torque, efficiency, etc.

Toyota had the chance to build the first hybrid sports car back in 2003, then again in 2010, and again in 2016, and finally they tried in 2021 and cancelled the project after a fire on the prototype. And now they want to finally build a hybrid super car but it's no longer "cool" any more. Nothing new here, the world moved on.

It seems to me the term hybrid is not cool, but electrified is easier for car guys to swallow. Hybrid = Prius in most peoples minds.
