Alright everyone, it's that time of year again...SPY SHOT SEASON!
Toyota has now been caught testing the next generation Avalon, due next year for 2019 MY. I will elaborate later. (Thanks Motor1!)
As one of two flagships of the North American Toyota market, the next Avalon will be an evolutionary restyling, with revolutionary leaps forward. Like with Jaguar's X351 XJ, which was a revolutionary restyling of a 40+ year signature and under the skin a evolutionary reworking of the X350 (refresh X358) on the same architecture (introduced 2002-03), that is what the current XX40 Avalon was upon debut in 2012. A revolutionary restyling of the Avalon on the same K Platform, designed to mimic the newer Jaguar XJ design. Only styling made it "new", next to the XX30 II.
While it looks very similar to the current XX40 Avalon, the XX60 Avalon will be a revolution outside of aesthetics, now utilizing an application of TNGA-K. This is a high performance offering, similar to the new XV70 Camry XSE.
